OMG guys, guess who baked choc-chip cookies and didn't eat a single bit of the raw cookie dough batter!! I'm a changed person. I'm not sure if I approve of this new me. WHO HAVE I BECOME. who doesn't eat the raw cookie dough, and more importantly, WHY DIDN'T I EAT ANY?! :(
Anyways, I made this for my friends thanksgiving potluck, and I'm pretty sure they turned out good because there was none left. But that's also partly because I lost count of how many I ate before leaving my apartment.
Keep scrolling for the recipe and prices. I already had all the ingredients from my previous grocery shopping trips so I didn't need to run out and buy anything.
1 1/4 Cup sugar - I used brown sugar but you can use w/e you have or combine both brown and white - (1kg Bag $3)
1 1/2 Cup choc-chips - (500g for $3.49)
2 1/4 Cup flour - (1 small bag of flour $1.79 - 500g)
1/4 tsp Baking soda (1 Box for $2 and it will last you 3 - 4 centuries)
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla Essence (I actually didn't add this in bc I didn't have any)
1x Egg (12x eggs for $2.99)
1 Cup softened butter or margarine (I can't recall the price but I had some in the fridge).
*If you don't want to use choc-chips or you want to add something else in as well, the options are endless.
-Peanut butter or Nutella
-Kit Kats or M&M's
-Anything else you can think of bc my mind has gone blank :)
1. Pre-heat your oven to 180deg/350F
2. In a bowl, mix in your flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Then add in your egg, butter and choc-chips.
3. Combine all the ingredients together - I just used a spoon. The cookie dough may be stiff/hard to mix through but that's OK.
3. Using an ice-cream scoop or a spoon (like I did), scoop or spoon out the dough and place on a lined tray. I made 17 medium-large sized cookies.
4. If your cookie portions are small, bake between 8-10mins. If they're bigger, then bake for 12-15min or until golden brown. They should be soft in the middle, so when you take them out, let them cool for a little bit.
The amount of sorbet recipes online for peaches alone is ENDLESS.
So many variations, simple and complicated and I decided not to follow any of them and just attempt to make my own using whatever I had. I struggle to follow a recipe, or any sort of 'rule' or 'procedure' in life to be honest. Being rebellious is fun/I kind of like getting in to trouble.
I'm so weird. UGH.
ANYWAYS - what you will need is....
4-5 Peaches peeled
1cup Almond milk (or normal milk or cream)
Maple syrup to drizzle on top (optional)
Chocolate sauce to drizzle on top (optional)
The reason why I added chocolate sauce to this is because I'm addicted to it and prefer it on any sorbet or ice-cream lol. Also I ran out of the sauce while drizzling it on top :(

- Not the special brownies you're thinking ;)
This is like a foodgasm just waiting to happen.
You need 3 INGREDIENTS
PUT IN OVEN FOR 5 -10MIN OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN
CONSUME THIS SANDWICH GIFTED FROM THE FOOD GODS ABOVE (i am so lame).
- Dont wear a white shirt like I did. There is NO WAY IN HELL that you won't get any chocolate on it.
Whoever created chocolate peanut butter, I OWE YOU MY LIFE. Best invention ever, after Nutella of course.
Basically this recipe involves very little effort, because I always like to do things that don't require a lot of energy (#lazy), and a lot of peanut butter spooning. The best kind of spooning there is ;)
These bite sized squares are perfect as an alternative to chocolate or ice cream if you're trying to be healthy! They're also a great snack just in general.
Say goodbye to your thigh gap, and say hello to some extra cushioning ;)
This isn't my recipe, it's from Nigella Lawson, but with a few slight alterations! Either way, it tastes delicious and makes for a perfect pick me up treat.
I made this cake for my sisters birthday last weekend and it turned out so good! I love baking in the middle of the night! But before it turned out so good, shit went downhill for a while. It was supposed to be a layered cake but because of the disaster that occurred, I had to use a different cake tin.
So I poured the batter in to the cake tin, which by the way i made sure was was all in place and the base and rim were clicked in to place. So I pour the batter in, and as i lift the cake tin to put into the oven, it decides to break and detach the rim and base clicky thing on the side. (yes my descriptions are amazing atm, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about right now lol). The batter went everywhere including the floor and my feet :(, Turns out, the base had shrunk a little bit in the dishwasher, argh. I couldn't take a photo of this massacre because it was past midnight and I was in a shitty mood to grab my phone, also I was too occupied cleaning up.
I eventually had to re-start again and use a different cake tin, BUT the cake was amazing!! And yes I did spoon some of the cake batter that went all over the kitchen bench. I have no shame haha.
Moral of this poorly constructed cake story (lol), even if things go wrong or downhill, keep trying and you'll succeed!
Alright, I know more than anyone how hard it is to prep and eat breakfast in the morning. Because I'm not a morning person, I spend the most time in bed in the morning as possible until I've left just enough time to get ready and make the train with at least 1 minute to spare.
So this meal which is healthy, easy, and filling, can be prepped the night before so you can eat it in the morning or take it to work with you!! so many alternatives to this as well. basically use whatever fruit you have! Honey tastes nice in this pudding as well!
1/2 C Almond milk (or any milk you prefer)
1/2 C Chia Seeds
No method to this really! just cut up the banana or whatever fruit you are using, pour the milk and chia seeds in the container and set in the fridge for at least 20 minutes or overnight! If you feel that there isn't enough or any liquid at all once its set, add some more milk!
Sugar cravings + cake withdrawals = time to bake a cake!
I didn’t have enough chocolate icing ingredients to ice the whole cake which was what I was intending on doing, so here’s a tip before you set your heart out on making and eating something..check that you have the ingredients, or at least enough :( haha
Anyways this is a basic simple cake recipe with a hit of coffee which should help you with your hangover or to help kick start your lazy Sunday, so when it hits 7pm, you’ll feel like you actually didn’t waste the whole day!
Depending on how much of the raw batter you eat, this cake should serve at least 8 to 10 people.
Every week or so I get major cake cravings/withdrawals so I make it my duty to bake a cake on a regular basis. This cake contains shaved chocolate that was mixed in the batter, and a chocolate whipped cream filling in the middle with strawberries on top. Drooling yet? I'm not sure, so just look at the pic below. Also the reason why the word rustic is used in the title is because I could not make this cake look neat and perfect! So what better way to cover up my actual intentions by add rustic in to the title haha. (No point now because i've just told you)
This is the perfect cake to gain weight (lol), to make for friends or if you're going through a break up, and I say breakup because when i was about to dig in to this cake, Paloma Faith - Only love can hurt like this started playing on Spotify Top 50 Hits and it was a perfect fit! (and no I'm not going through a break up if you're wondering).
Btw I'm not going to lie, half way through baking this cake, I had no idea what I was doing/whipped cream was everywhere/layering the cake was a nightmare all because I was too impatient to wait for the cake to cool down.
